Solution-Focused Brief Therapy(SFBT) focuses on the positive, the solution, and the future to facilitate change in the desired direction. SFBT focuses on client strengths and resiliencies and is based on solution-building, current resources, and future hopes, rather than present problems and past causes. The therapist is directed by client’s goals and co-constructs solutions with the client with the intention of reaching the objectives. Some strategies include; scaling to determine change, exceptions to help the client establish a time when the problem was better or not there and why it was different, and the miracle question to establish goals.
SFBT is especially effective for specific problems that require a fast change.
